In this Honda Accord Ad, the first 37 seconds are bloody awesome

A follow-up ad to the famed ‘The Cog’ is never going to be an easy one. But this is a nice attempt and I am a sucker for car ads that don’t show the car. In this case, there was absolutely no need to. And the VO ‘Absolute precision you can feel’ doesn’t really fit with the ad…this should be been about comfort, the joy of the open road and that absolute freedom when you feel that you are flying like a bird.
Best description of Bush. Ever.

Ohio governor Ted Strickland’s zinger largely went unnoticed at the Democratic convention in Denver. This is what he had to say about Bush…
“…unlike George H. W. Bush, who was born on third base and thought he hit a triple, George W. was born on third base and stole second.”
Ouch.

For those of you who are sick of the disgusting excess of Olympics, this should give you 25 seconds of pure joy.
Note: I have absolutely nothing against the Chinese…I just don’t like this commercial spectacle. UPDATE: Also, the IOC has been a preposterously evil enterprise. Marina Hyde articulates it well.
There is wrong and then there is Army Wrong

You know the US Army adventures in Iran is going to be something extraordinary when you see the media buying pattern of this institution. Heavy.com has this video of a Persian dancer that has been circulating around the websites I usually visit. Look at him…that expression is priceless. Perfect blend of creepiness and sadness that says, ‘I know you won’t ever sleep with me…so I am sorry I have to bomb the hell out of you. And oh, you can thank me for liberating your people later. ‘

Also at Saatchi & Saatchi, Singapore it takes 11 people to screw a light bulb…

While I was drunk surfing, I came across this ad for Olay anti-ageing cream…
And this monstrosity…
Did it seriously take 11 people to create one ad? And this is not even a campaign, just a single photoshop horror. So, is this really the case? Or could it be that one junior creative came up with this and the whole senior team jumped on the poor dude thinking this could be the next ‘Tock, Tick’ ad.
And the worst part is…this is not even original. As one commenter points out, the exact same thing has been done just months back for another anti-ageing cream. Oh my, the ridiculousness that our industry tolerates is staggering.
