		<description>I don&#039;t know who originated the idea but in the movie version of Minority Report starring Tom Cruise you were tracked by retinal scan and 3D holographic advertisements would pick you up as you passed by and try to sell you things. At the moment it is economically unfeasible to target advertise like that in a high traffic area, especially in such an extravagant way, but it is something that would be approximately possible now. Imagine if they put monitors in the subway that had facial recognition software like they use in casinos and certain institutions. 

Something more likely to occur sooner, if it hasn&#039;t already, is direct advertising through data collected by media players in a similar way to how data is collected by a program skimming through your emails. Hummer ads if you watch CSI: Miami and Office Depot ads if you watch Numb3rs or something like that. What an age to be alive in.</description>
